The Stained Glass Museum offers an intriguing insight into the rich history of stained – glass windows, an art form that has been practised in the Uk for at least thirteen hundred years. In its continuous gallery, which spans eight centuries of stained glass history, over 125 stained glass panels from the 13th to the current day are on display. The stained glass panels at the gallery are all displayed at eye level, allowing visitors to get up close to the art of stained glass. Temporary exhibits of panels and designs from the Museum’s reserve collection are staged throughout the year. On a regular basis, the Stained Glass Museum hosts hands-on creative glass classes led by professional glass artists. You may learn about classic glass painting methods, improving your leading/glazing abilities, or contemporary glass fusing or copper foiling in one of their day workshops.
