Trebah is the result of nearly 180 years of creative inspiration and hard work. The natural spring in the garden cascades 10 feet into the Koi Pool, passing through drifts of vibrantly coloured waterside plants.
Massive Australian tree ferns and palms coexist with Mediterranean and southern hemisphere flora in Trebah’s woodlands. Thanks to a massive plantation of gunnera and clusters of enormous bamboos, this garden has a peculiar and exotic wildness that no other garden in the British Isles can match. It has been designated one of the best 80 gardens in the world. For their scent, several of the plants, such as azaleas and rhododendrons, were planted in drifts along the ravine’s sides. The award-winning Visitor Centre houses a distinctive café with a Mediterranean-style patio, as well as plant and gift shops.
A garden that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Trebah offers guests a year-round adventure. Trebah is alive with a lively array of 100-year-old rhododendrons, magnolias, and camellias in the early spring, and the gigantic gunnera is a must-see for young and old in the summer. Hydrangea Valley throws clouds of china blue and delicate white across Mallard Pond in the fall, and our majestic champion trees dominate the scene in the winter, the Bamboozle stands out, and southern hemisphere flora flourish.
