Tropiquaria zoo near Washford Cross, Somerset, is a wildlife park and aquarium. It’s a tiny tropical home housed in a grade II historic 1930s art deco BBC radio transmission hall. Since the early 1990s, the zoo has been located on this property.
The tropical hall, as well as the outdoor spaces and the aquarium, have an African motif. Outside, they feature four acres of land with animal cages, two life-size pirate ships, and an adventure castle. There’s also an indoor play castle if that isn’t enough.
Over 40 tanks house fish and amphibians from all over the world at the aquarium. A collection of spiders and creepy crawlies may also be found. A Nocturnal home, built in 2017, holds a number of seldom-seen creatures, including one of the tiniest primates.
The radio transmitter station houses the Tropical Hall. Around the park, there are up to four animal interactions and eight daily talks. You may be able to handle a lizard or learn about some of its endangered species.
