Whitchurch Silk Mill has ensured the craft of silk weaving has been passed down through generations. Today that heritage is represented in the organzine, twills and herringbones, with fresh contemporary designs and classic colourways, being woven on this carefully protected site.
They preserve traditional heritage silk weaving skills, weaving on looms that date back to the 1890s, and by maintaining their collection of historic machinery. Because of their care and traditional processes, production is not fast; delivery of a 150m order of silk can take up to 16 weeks, but the time spent is well worth it for the beauty and timelessness of the result!
By weaving exclusive fabrics for today’s luxury market, they are securing the future of the methods, skills, traditions and knowledge that have existed at the Mill since 1815. You can browse their range of quality scarves, giftware and accessories in their shop, either at the Mill or in their online shop.
