Founded in 1972 to help preserve 2,000 years of York’s history, York Archaeology is an independent educational charity. Over the last 50 years, they have helped preserve the vast collection of the city’s archaeological deposits and heritage. Their vision is to pioneer new ways for people to enjoy and also benefit from archaeology.
York Archaeology’s attractions help bring history to life in new and exciting ways. They include the world famous JORVIK Viking Centre, York’s hidden gem Barley Hall, DIG: An Archaeological Adventure and the City Walls Experience at Micklegate Bar.
