In the year 2000, Z-arts was founded as a “creative space for young people” with a focus on participatory activities.
Everything Z-arts does, both inside and outside the building is still centred on creative learning. They work across the curriculum with schools and communities across Greater Manchester. They strive to be innovative in all of their projects, making them as relevant, accessible, educational, and, of course, entertaining as everyone involved deserves.
They take pride in providing a welcoming, vibrant, and safe environment for the whole family to enjoy as Manchester’s venue for children and families.
The mission is to inspire and enable generations of young people in Manchester and beyond to realise their full potential through the use of creativity.
They believe that everyone can benefit from creativity, so regardless of age, background, or interest, they hope you’ll be able to find something that suits you, whether you’re looking for something to do with your kids or you want to participate and get creative yourself.
If you prefer to watch rather than participate, the theatre programme has something for everyone. With twelve public rooms, including a 230-seat theatre, gallery, fully equipped dance studio, music studio, café, rehearsal and workshop rooms, Z-arts creates an artistic hub in the large building.
