Winter Safari Drive-Through
Even though it’s getting cold outdoors, you can still enjoy the six-and-a-half-mile Safari Drive-through. The Safari is definitely worth a visit throughout the winter because many of the animals are still active. Their tigers and lions, especially, who like a sun nap, are typically considerably more active in cooler temperatures. However, not everyone in Wiltshire enjoys the cold weather. If it’s really cold or rainy outside, some of these furry, feathered, and scaly friends may be difficult to find or may opt to keep warm and snug indoors. At this time of year, their magnificent tower of giraffes, in particular, do not frequently visit the East African reserve. However, from a viewing spot at the top of the African Village parking lot, you can generally see them in their grass paddock.
- The Winter Safari Drive-through is included with a Christmas All-in-one Ticket.
- In order to minimise queueing in the Safari Park, they may move their carnivores into their drive-by paddocks from 1pm. This means guests will not have to wait for the carnivore gates to be opened and closed when passing through these areas.
- Due to COVID-19, please remember that the Winter Safari Drive-through can get very busy, and last entry is at 2pm. They recommend that you arrive as early as possible for the best experience. Throughout Christmas at Longleat the Winter Safari Drive-through will open at 10am.
- To ensure the best Safari experience, you will be asked to select your preferred entry time. Choose from between 10am and 12pm or between 12pm and 2pm. You may enter the Winter Safari Drive-through at any time during your chosen slot and you may visit the Main Square attractions both before and after your Safari adventure (subject to Park opening hours); the choice is entirely yours.
