It’s been more than 50 years since the publication of Rod Stewart’s debut album, and in 2021, Some Guys Have All The Luck – The Rod Stewart Story will return to theatres with a brand-new production that will bring to the stage a magnificent live concert celebration of one of rock music’s most iconic figures.
Performing as Rod, frontman Paul Metcalfe does a fantastic job capturing all of the excitement, energy, and charisma of the iconic performer, including the infamous movements, showmanship, and sense of humour that have helped Rod to become one of the most successful musicians in history.
During the beginning half of the show, you will hear songs from Rod’s earlier career, like Handbags & Gladrags & You Wear It Well, as well as some Faces favourites, such as Stay With Me & Twisting The Night Away. All of these songs will be intertwined with some amusing and interesting anecdotes and will take you on a musical voyage through Rod’s career throughout the last five decades, from humble origins to superstardom.
The second half is one huge party, featuring all of Rod’s biggest songs, including Maggie May, Baby Jane, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Sailing, Tonight’s The Night, The First Cut Is The Deepest, and You’re in My Heart. The first half of the show is a celebration of Rod’s life and career.
Currently, in its fourth year, this genuine performance boasts a magnificent stage design, a dazzling light display, an outstanding live band, and stage-wide projections.
