But there is a moment in February that is expected for most kids and families and you cannot deny that your kids will want your attention and go out with the family during this time. So if you don’t have any money and you want to see a place where you can enjoy everything for free, here is a list of 3 places that you can iVisit During Half Term in North West England.

Brockholes Nature Reserve

With their huge land covering 250 acres this nature reserve just off the M6 is one of those mini English paradises you can find for you and your family. Explore around the woodlands, the River Rubble and their floating visitor village.

You can also enjoy their playground which will surely fill your kids thrive for adventure or try to spot all the different species that they live around the marsh. With this in mind, they have specifically built hides, paths and viewing points that will let you get closer to the wildlife whiteout disturbing it.

Whitaker Museum & Art Gallery

Open at first as an overseer’s house for a textile mill in New Hall Hey this museum was donated to the people of Rawtenstall by Richard Whitaker. With its varied exhibition of taxidermy mount animals, odd objects gallery and old instruments from the industrial era your family can relive past times and even enjoy some of the simplicity of the past. Maybe even your kids might awaken their creative side through this, who knows?

Samlesbury Hall

Although Halloween is far away in the distance you can smell its presence in this ancient Hall so is rumoured to be inhabited by ghosts and witches. It’s so famous in this that it is regarded as one of the most haunted locations in Britain where strange things may happen during your visit. Some say these ghosts might be the witches that were trialed and sentenced here. But if you want to know the story of what happened to them, there is only one way to know.
