Visit Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, to find out more about Anne’s youth and what made her catch Henry VIII’s eye on her return to England.
The exhibition will be detailing the life and times of Anne Boleyn. The exhibition will be available from 4 March 2022. This will mark 500 years to the day of her first recorded appearance at English Court in 1522. The exhibition will run until November 2022.
Through portraits and letters on display around the Castle, visitors will learn about Anne’s youth, her education at home alongside her sister Mary, her year at the Court of Margaret of Austria, her time at the French court, and her debut at the English court.
Anne’s story will end with her placement in the service of Henry VIII’s first wife, Queen Catherine of Aragon, where you will be able to see a recreation of the Chateau Vert pageant set in which Anne made her dazzling debut at the English court.
You will be able to buy an accompanying exhibition guide and displays in the Castle. You can also attend exclusive lectures to find out more about the early years of Anne Boleyn whose marriage to Henry VIII irrevocably changed the course of British history.
The Becoming Anne: Connections Culture, Court exhibition will be included as part of Castle admission.
