Conservation Workshops: Introduction to Conservation – Jorvik Dig

3 different conservation workshops aimed at 17- 22 year olds designed to lift the veil on what conservation is. Each session is themed by material (Ceramics, Metals and Wood). The sessions will introduce participants to conservation, what it is, and why its important. It will be delivered by the YA Conservation team with participants completing tasks to help prolong the life of archaeological artefacts. Participants will end their workshop with a tour of one of the YA Conservation labs, so see the kind of environments that conservators work in on a daily basis. This one is perfect for those considering a career in conservation as it gives you a chance to see if it is for you and ask experts any questions you might have about the role.
