Norwich Theatre presents ‘The Birds & the Bees’ in co-production with New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and John Stalker Productions.
Set on a farm in Norfolk, this hilarious comedy about love, lust, family and farming marks our very first co-production with the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, in partnership with John Stalker Productions. Mark Crawford’s Canadian comedy has been relocated to North Norfolk, by James McDermott, bringing plenty of Norfolk humour!
Gail, a middle-aged divorcee and mother of turkey farmer, Sarah, is not quite ready to get back into the world of dating yet, let alone sex! Meanwhile, her slightly more promiscuous farmland tenant and neighbour, Earl has discovered the joys of ‘No Strings Attached’ relationships, and now he’s got his eye on Gail…
Sarah’s marriage has fallen apart, and she has moved back in with her mother, which is just as much fun as it sounds. But when student Ben arrives, things start to heat up.
There is something for everyone in The Birds and the Bees, covering all aspects of the challenges of relationships, British prudery and, of course, the insemination of turkeys.
Directed by Peter Rowe, this charming production offers equal parts comedy and heart. Not to be missed!
Gobble Gobble.
