The Heights of Abraham, a 60-acre woodland, is an adventurous day outing, for anyone looking for something fresh and outdoorsy. Because of its location surrounding Masson Hill and overlooking the attractive town of Matlock Bath, it was referred to as a “savage garden” when it was opened in 1787. For the first time, the Cable Car was put into service in 1984 and began transporting passengers from all across the Derwent Valley to Hilltop Park, where it had first been utilised in 1903.
