Enjoy some scary science to get you thinking about your senses, with live shows, experiments and making activities. Can you always trust what you see, hear, smell and touch?
Highlights include:
- Make your own crankenstein monster or brilliant bat in the Making Studios using a range of tools and materials. Find out how to make it move w then take it home to scare your friends. (Ages 5+ recommended).
- Enjoy our NEW Live science show Light up the Dark. Discover how the wonder of stories (and science) can light up the dark in this mesmerising, live show. There’ll be ‘ooh’s and ‘ah’s a-plenty with demonstrations that sparkle and glow.
- Trick (or treat) your senses in Experiment Zone. Put your senses to the test and trick your own brain in a range of exciting, interactive experiments. Can you always trust your ears, eyes and nose? (Ages 7+).

- Take a space-flight like no other in our presenter-led planetarium show Falling With Style. Explore how gravity effects the Universe.
- Be the boss in Mission Control and check out how astronauts poo in space in Space Zone Walk inside our replica of part of the International Space Station and enjoy stunning shows in the north’s biggest planetarium! All highlights of Space Zone.
- Be amazed by Gaia, the 7-metre wide, glowing replica of Earth, created by British artist Luke Jerram. On the upper level of the science centre, grab an easel and create your own Earth-inspired artwork.
- PLUS under-7s fun including Play Zone, discovery backpacks and three pop-up play stations.
