Baltese is a sleepy town where nothing unusual ever occurs. A lonely place, still reeling from the effects of a recent war, where young Peter has a difficult upbringing.
Then, one day, a magician appears out of nowhere and conjures a wonderful elephant from the sky. The arrival of the monster sets off a series of events that is both extraordinary and hard to predict, and it alters the course of Baltese history forever. Peter is thrown into the journey of his life, causing him to question everything he has ever believed about himself and learning that happiness may emerge from the most unpredictable of sources.
