Visitors on Saturday, 16 January can watch traditional activities with a Wassailing theme between 12pm and 3pm.
Wassailing in the orchard is free but places will be limited and must be pre-booked at one of the three 50-minute sessions: 1pm, 2:15pm or 3:30pm.
Guests will be led on a route, with song and short performances, to the orchard.
In the orchard an apple tree will be decorated – there is a ceremony with bread, salt and cider, where the audience joins in with the ‘Wassail’ shout and makes lots of noise with bells, rattles or whistles*.
These tickets are only valid if used in conjunction with a valid Museum admission ticket or Annual Membership card.
Details of the day’s activities will be uploaded prior to the event.
