This is the perfect alternative experience if you love stargazing, trying a bit of crafting or just sipping a Christmas cocktail in the amazing science centre. Book with friends, work colleagues, or come on your own.
Thursday 1st December and Thursday 15th December, 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Step into Life’s stunning planetarium for a presenter-led show that reveals what Newcastle’s winter night skies really look like without pollution and weather spoiling the view. Using the most advanced technology available, explore festive dark skies with the striking constellation Orion taking centre stage. Leave the world behind without leaving your very comfy seat.
You can also get crafty in the Making Studios and create your own festive greetings card to take home. Give it some sparkle using copper tape, batteries and LEDs and watch it light up the dark. Their friendly makers will be on hand to keep you on track.
The event will last for around an hour and a half – including time for drinks and festive bites.
Your ticket includes a welcome festive cocktail (or mocktail) and mini Christmas bites under the stunning artwork Gaia (a huge, illuminated planet Earth). A pay bar is available for extra drinks. All materials provided for your making activity. No crafting experience necessary.
Fancy an outdoor skate before or after the event? Tickets will be released shortly. Separate prices apply.
